Purpose

EB-4 is an employment-based immigrant visa category for eligible special immigrants.

Eligible special immigrant groups include:

• Religious workers;
• Special Immigrant Juveniles;
• Certain broadcasters;
• Certain retired G-4 international organization or NATO-6 civilian employees and family members;
• Certain U.S. government employees abroad and family members;
• U.S. armed forces members;
• Panama Canal Company or Canal Zone government employees;
• Certain physicians licensed and practicing in a U.S. state on Jan. 9, 1978; and
• Certain S nonimmigrants who supplied information on criminal or terrorist organizations.

Eligibility and Petitioning

Some EB-4 subcategories require an employer to file Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant.

Other subcategories require you to self-petition. Some categories do not require Form I-360.

Family Provisions

Some EB-4 classifications permit admission of your:

Visa Availability

Certain Broadcasters

The U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), or a USAGM grantee, may petition for eligible broadcasters and accompanying spouses and children.

USAGM grantees are:

• Radio Free Asia, Inc. (RFA); and
• Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Inc. (RFE/RL).

Eligible broadcasters include reporters, writers, translators, editors, producers, announcers, news hosts, and news analysis specialists. Purely technical or support-service positions are not included.

The USAGM or grantee filing Form I-360 must submit a signed, dated supplemental attestation stating:

• Your job title and full job description; and
• Your broadcasting expertise, relevant experience, or qualifications for the position.

• Form I-485 — Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; and
