Purpose

This visa allows eligible Global Impact Work Visa holders to live permanently in New Zealand.

Eligibility

You must:

  • Hold a valid Global Impact Work Visa and have held it for at least 30 months.
  • Be in good health.
  • Be of good character.
  • Have continuing support from the Edmund Hillary Fellowship.
  • Be a current Edmund Hillary Fellowship member.
  • Provide evidence that the Fellowship supports your residence application.

Required Evidence

Identity

Provide:

  • Two acceptable head-and-shoulders photos.
  • Your passport or certificate of identity.

You may submit an original passport or certified copy. Immigration New Zealand may request the original passport to complete the application.

Health

Provide proof of good health, including:

  • A medical examination.
  • A chest X-ray.

Character

You may need to provide police certificates. Immigration New Zealand will tell you if these are required.

Fellowship Support

Provide evidence that:

  • You are a current Edmund Hillary Fellowship member.
  • The Fellowship supports your residence application.

Travel and Visa Conditions

If travelling:

  • Your visa must be in a valid passport.
  • If your passport expires, transfer your visa to a new passport before travelling.

To transfer a visa, you must:

  • Send your old and new passports.
  • Complete the Application for Transfer or Confirmation of a Visa.
  • Pay a transfer fee.
