Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Visa

Purpose
This visa is for people who have held a Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Visa and worked for an accredited employer in New Zealand for more than 2 years.
The visa is closed unless you have already held it, are reapplying, and are waiting for a residence from work visa.
Eligibility
You must:
- Be in New Zealand.
- Hold a Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Visa.
- Have worked for an accredited employer in New Zealand for at least 24 months while holding that visa.
- Have a current full-time job offer.
- Meet the applicable salary threshold:
- NZD $55,000 yearly before tax if the initial visa application was before 7 October 2019.
- NZD $79,560 yearly before tax if the initial visa application was on or after 7 October 2019.
- Hold full or provisional New Zealand occupational registration, if required.
- Be in good health and of good character.
- Genuinely intend to meet visa conditions.
Job offer requirements
The offer must:
- Be current when you apply.

Limited reapplication provisions

If awaiting a residence decision

- Be in New Zealand when applying.
An eligible employer may be:
- An accredited employer.
- An employer whose accreditation expired after 31 March 2021.
- The employer supporting your initial Talent visa.
Documents and evidence
Provide:
- One acceptable photo for online applications, or two for paper applications.
- Passport or certificate of identity.
- Employment agreement.
- Medical examination and chest X-ray.
- Police certificates, if aged 17 or older.
- Occupational registration evidence, if required.
Your passport must remain valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure from New Zealand.
Police certificates must be less than 6 months old when you apply. Non-English police certificates require English translations.
Additional identity documents
Chinese citizens applying from China must also provide:
- Hukou.
- Chinese identity card.
- INZ 1027 supplementary form for paper applications.
Applicants applying in Hong Kong or Macao must provide:
- Copy of identity card.
- INZ 1220 supplementary form for paper applications.
Applicants in China, Hong Kong or Macao may need a chest X-ray completed within the previous 3 months if they have spent 6 consecutive months in China since their last X-ray and will stay in New Zealand for more than 6 months.

Rights and conditions
Work
You must work:
- In the specific occupation stated in your job offer.
- For the specific employer supporting your application.
To change employers, apply for a variation of conditions. The new employer must pay at least the salary threshold applicable when you applied: NZD $55,000 or NZD $79,560 before tax.
Study
You may study for up to 3 months in any 12-month period.
Family
You may include your partner and dependent children aged 24 or younger in your residence application.
Travel and arrival
After visa grant, you must arrive in New Zealand within 3 months.
After arrival, you may travel in and out of New Zealand for 30 months.
Your visa must be in a valid passport before you travel. If your passport expires, apply to transfer the visa to your new passport using INZ 1023 and pay the transfer fee.

- Air travellers: from 24 hours before the journey begins.
- Sea travellers: from 24 hours before departure from the last overseas port.
