Adoption visa - Subclass 102
A permanent visa for children adopted outside Australia to live in Australia with their adoptive parent. The child must be outside Australia when applying and when the visa is decided.
Aged Dependent Relative visa - Subclass 114
Permanent visa for a single older person who has relied on a relative in Australia for financial support and is sponsored by an eligible relative or their partner. Applicants must be outside Australia when applying and when the decision is made.
Aged Dependent Relative visa - Subclass 838
A permanent visa for a single older person who depends on a relative living in Australia for financial support. Applicants must be in Australia when applying and when the visa is decided.
Aged Parent visa (subclass 804)
A permanent visa for aged parents of settled Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens to stay in Australia indefinitely.
Bridging visa A (BVA)
A temporary visa that generally allows you to stay lawfully in Australia while your new substantive visa application is being processed, or during associated judicial proceedings. It does not support return travel to Australia.
Bridging visa B (BVB)
A temporary visa that lets eligible holders leave and return to Australia during a specified travel period while a substantive visa application is being processed or, in some cases, during judicial review proceedings.
Bridging visa C (BVC)
A temporary visa that generally lets you stay lawfully in Australia while a substantive visa application is being processed, or in certain judicial review proceedings. It is free and does not support return travel to Australia.
Bridging visa E (BVE) (subclass 050)
A temporary visa that lets eligible people stay lawfully in Australia while making arrangements to leave, finalising an immigration matter, or waiting for an immigration decision.
Bridging visa E (BVE) (subclass 051)
Lets eligible Protection visa applicants stay lawfully in Australia while their Protection visa application is being processed. There is no application fee, and the visa ends if the holder leaves Australia.
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (subclass 888) visa – Business Innovation stream
A permanent Australian visa for eligible holders of specified provisional, Special Category, or certain subclass 457 visas who meet business, nomination and other requirements. It permits permanent stay, work and study, with a 5-year travel facility.
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (subclass 888) visa – Premium Investor stream
A permanent visa for holders of a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (subclass 188) visa in the Premium Investor stream who meet investment requirements and have a current Austrade nomination. It allows permanent residence, work and study in Australia.
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Entrepreneur stream
A permanent Australian visa for eligible holders of a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Entrepreneur stream who have a successful record of entrepreneurial activities and a current State or Territory nomination.
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Investor stream
A permanent visa for eligible holders of a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Investor stream to continue investment activities and live, work and study in Australia.
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Significant Investor stream
A permanent Australian visa for eligible holders of a subclass 188 Significant Investor or Significant Investor Extension stream visa to continue business and investment activities in Australia.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (subclass 188) visa – Significant Investor Extension stream
A provisional visa for holders of a subclass 188 Significant Investor stream visa to extend their stay in Australia, undertake investment activity, work and study, and potentially apply for permanent residence through the subclass 888 Significant Investor stream.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Business Innovation Extension stream
A provisional visa for holders or certain former holders of a subclass 188 Business Innovation stream visa to extend their stay in Australia, operate a business, and potentially apply for permanent residence if eligible.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Business Innovation stream
A provisional visa for people with business skills to operate a new or existing business in Australia. It allows stays of up to 5 years and may provide a pathway to the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888). This stream closed to new applications on 31 July 2024; applications made before then continue to be processed.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Entrepreneur stream
A provisional visa for nominated startup and early-stage entrepreneurs to undertake entrepreneurial activity in Australia for up to 5 years. This stream closed to new applications on 31 July 2024; applications made before that date will continue to be processed.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Investor stream
A provisional Australian visa for nominated investors to undertake business and investment activity in Australia. It allows stays of up to 5 years and may provide a pathway to the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) Investor stream if requirements are met. This stream closed to new applications on 31 July 2024.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Premium Investor stream
A provisional Australian visa for applicants nominated by Austrade and invited to apply who make a complying premium investment of at least AUD15 million. It allows business and investment activity, work and study in Australia for up to 4 years and 3 months. This stream is closed to new applications.
Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Significant Investor stream
A provisional Australian visa for invited applicants nominated by a State or Territory government agency or Austrade who invest at least AUD5 million in complying Australian investments. This stream closed to new applications on 31 July 2024; applications made before then will continue to be processed.
Carer visa (subclass 116)
A permanent visa for people outside Australia who will provide ongoing substantial care and support to an Australian relative, or their co-residing family member, with a long-term medical condition and no reasonable access to care options in Australia.
Child visa (Subclass 802)
A permanent visa for a dependent child of an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent visa holder to stay in Australia with their parent. The child must be in Australia when applying and when the decision is made.
Child visa (subclass 101)
A permanent visa for a dependent child outside Australia to move to Australia to live with an eligible parent. The child must be sponsored and meet relevant age, dependency, health, character and consent requirements.
