2021 Resident Visa
A closed resident visa for people who were in New Zealand on 29 September 2021 and met eligible-visa, residency or work requirements. It allowed holders to live, work and study in New Zealand.
Academic Visitor Visa
For academics with overseas research or academic work experience who are invited by a New Zealand tertiary education institute to undertake academic work for up to 3 months.
Accredited Employer Work Visa
A work visa for people with a full-time job offer from an AEWV-accredited New Zealand employer. It permits work for the approved employer in the stated job and location, with stays of up to 5 years depending on the job offered.
Active Investor Plus Visa
A New Zealand resident visa for people who live, work and invest in New Zealand, requiring at least NZD $5 million in acceptable Growth category investments or NZD $10 million under the Balanced category.
Adoption Pre-citizenship Visitor Visa
Allows children adopted from other countries to visit New Zealand for up to 6 months before their New Zealand citizenship is confirmed. Children may study for up to 3 months but cannot work.
Adoption Visitor Visa
A visa for children coming to New Zealand to be adopted by New Zealand citizens or residents, with support from Oranga Tamariki — Ministry for Children. It allows a stay of up to 12 months and study for up to 3 months in any calendar year.
Antarctic Traveller Visitor Visa
A visa to transit through New Zealand to work in Antarctica for a Contracting Party to the Antarctic Treaty as part of a scientific programme or expedition. It allows stays of up to 12 months and has no stated application cost.
Argentina Working Holiday Visa
A New Zealand working holiday visa for citizens of Argentina aged 18 to 35, allowing holidays, temporary work and study or training for up to 12 months. Applicants need at least NZD $4,200, medical insurance and plans to leave New Zealand.
Arts and Music Festival Visitor Visa
Visitor visa for performers and support crew invited to take part in an Immigration New Zealand-approved arts or music festival. It allows participation in the approved festival only and no other work.
Australian Resident Visa
A resident visa for Australian citizens and permanent residents that is granted on arrival in New Zealand, allowing them to live, work and study indefinitely.
Austria Working Holiday Visa
A working holiday visa for Austrian citizens aged 18 to 30 to holiday, work in temporary jobs and study or train in New Zealand for up to 6 months.
Belgium Working Holiday Visa
For Belgian citizens aged 18 to 30 who want to holiday, work in temporary jobs and study or train in New Zealand for up to 12 months.
Brazil Working Holiday Visa
A visa for Brazilian citizens aged 18 to 30 to holiday, work in temporary jobs and study or train in New Zealand for up to 12 months. It permits work for any one employer for up to 3 months and study or training for up to 6 months.
Business Investor Resident Visa
A New Zealand resident visa for holders of a Business Investor Work Visa who have actively run their approved business for 3 years after investing at least NZD 1 million, or 12 months after investing at least NZD 2 million.
Business Investor Work Visa
A work visa for people who invest in and actively operate an established New Zealand business. It is valid for up to 4 years, requires an investment of at least NZD 1 million and NZD 500,000 in reserve funds, and can lead to a resident visa.
Business Visitor Visa
A visa for short-term business visits to New Zealand, such as meetings, exploring business opportunities or negotiating contracts. It allows stays of up to 3 months in 1 year, study for up to 3 months, and inclusion of a partner and dependent children.
Canada Working Holiday Visa
A visa for Canadian citizens aged 18 to 35 to holiday, work in temporary jobs and study or train in New Zealand for up to 12 or 23 months.
Care Workforce Work to Residence Visa
A resident visa for people aged 55 or younger who have worked in an approved New Zealand care workforce job for at least 24 months and have a qualifying full-time job or offer from an accredited employer.
Child of Military Visitor Visa
A visa for dependent children aged 19 or younger of people who have, are eligible for, or are deemed to have a New Zealand military visa. Children can stay for the duration of their parent's military visa, study for up to 3 months, and cannot work.
Child of a New Zealander Visitor Visa
Allows dependent children of New Zealand citizens or residents to visit New Zealand for up to 9 months. Children may study for up to 3 months and must meet dependency, health, character, financial support and departure requirements.
Child of a Student Visitor Visa
Allows dependent children aged 19 or younger to visit a parent who holds a New Zealand student visa. They may stay for the same duration as the parent’s student visa and study for up to 3 months.
Child of a Worker Visitor Visa
A visitor visa for dependent children of eligible work visa holders to join their parent in New Zealand and study for up to 3 months. It is generally valid for the same duration as the parent's work visa.
Chile Working Holiday Visa
A working holiday visa for Chilean citizens aged 18 to 35 to holiday, work in temporary jobs and study or train in New Zealand for up to 12 months.
China Skilled Workers Visa
A temporary work visa for citizens of the People's Republic of China with a full-time job offer in an eligible skilled occupation in New Zealand. It allows stays of up to 3 years, subject to the length of the job offer.
